Clear arrangements.
Before hire starts.
Rates, insurance responsibilities and booking-specific conditions are agreed in writing for each hire.
Quotes and booking
This page explains the arrangements to agree before plant or operator hire. The written quotation and hire agreement will specify the equipment, service, dates, rate and applicable conditions. An enquiry or WhatsApp message requesting a quote does not reserve equipment or confirm a booking. Availability and acceptance are confirmed in writing.
Plant and operator options
Specify whether you need plant only, plant with an operator, or an operator for equipment you provide. Machine size, attachments, duties, site location, working hours and duration must be agreed. Equipment photographs on the website illustrate types; the exact machine and attachment specification is confirmed with the quote.
Rates, payment and deposits
Your quote will set out the hire rate, charging period, included hours and any agreed overtime or extra charges. Delivery, collection, fuel, attachments and operator costs will be identified as included or additional. VAT, where applicable, will be shown. Any deposit, payment deadline or credit arrangement will be stated before booking; submitting an enquiry does not create a credit account.
Delivery, collection and site access
Provide accurate access information, unloading space, ground conditions, restrictions and a site contact. Delivery and collection times are arranged for each booking. Agree responsibility for unloading and loading, transport, permits and any waiting time before mobilisation.
Safe use and site responsibilities
Agree supervision, site inductions, exclusion zones, service information and permits relevant to the task. Machines must be operated only by competent, authorised people and used within the agreed specification. Confirm lifting duties and required examination records separately. Unsafe conditions or equipment concerns must be raised immediately.
Insurance, damage and theft
Before hire starts, the written agreement must identify who is responsible for loss, theft, accidental damage, excesses and continuing hire charges, and what insurance evidence is needed. Where the customer takes responsibility for plant, insurance must match the equipment value and applicable hire conditions. Do not assume that public liability insurance covers damage to hired plant.
Fuel, condition and breakdowns
Record the equipment’s condition at handover and report concerns promptly. Fuel arrangements, daily checks, cleaning and return condition are agreed for each hire. In a breakdown or suspected defect, stop safely and contact William before arranging repairs or continuing to operate. Repair responsibility, downtime and any charge adjustment will be assessed under the agreed terms.
Changes, cancellations and off-hire
Contact us promptly if dates or requirements change. Availability, price changes and any cancellation charges must be agreed in the written booking terms. Request off-hire directly and obtain confirmation of the off-hire and collection arrangements; responsibility for the machine before collection follows the written agreement.
Business and private customers
Tell us whether you are hiring for business or personal use so the appropriate conditions can be supplied. Any statutory consumer cancellation rights and arrangements for starting during a cancellation period will be explained before a booking is concluded. Nothing on this page excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Any supplier-specific or industry hire conditions that apply will be identified and provided before acceptance. This page does not claim CPA membership or automatically incorporate CPA conditions.
